George Robert Carruthers
George Robert Carruthers was a pioneering space physicist and engineer renowned for his contributions to space science. Notably, he perfected the ultraviolet camera/spectrograph used during the Apollo 16 mission in 1972—the first telescope deployed on another planetary body.
