According to legend, Peter and his sister were kidnapped, and although his sister escaped, he was brought to America. He was raised by Judge Anthony Winston in Virginia, further shaping his remarkable life and legacy.

Saint John of Shanghai and San Francisco, also known as St. John Maximovitch or St. John the Wonderworker, was a significant figure in the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia.
