Stuart Allen Roosa was a distinguished American aeronautical engineer, smokejumper, and NASA astronaut, best known as the Command Module Pilot for the Apollo 14 mission. He orbited the Moon 34 times, conducting significant experiments from the Command Module Kitty Hawk. Roosa was part of the 1966 astronaut class and contributed to the Apollo program, including serving as a backup for Apollo 16 and 17. He was instrumental in the "Moon Trees" project, carrying tree seeds to the Moon, which were planted across the U.S. Roosa's career highlights include receiving the NASA Distinguished Service Medal and logging 217 hours in space.

Stuart Roosa was born on August 16, 1933, in Durango, Colorado, to Dewey and Lorine Roosa and was raised in Claremore, Oklahoma. He graduated from Claremore High School in 1951 and pursued higher education in aeronautical engineering, culminating in a degree from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1960.

Robert Vincent Roosa was a prominent American economist and banker, best known for his role as the Treasury Undersecretary for Monetary Affairs during the Kennedy administration from 1961 to 1964. Roosa played a pivotal role in international finance by advocating for the U.S. dollar as the world's leading currency. He introduced innovative financial instruments like the Roosa bonds and was a key figure in addressing America's balance of payments issues. His career extended to influential positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Brown Brothers Harriman, and several esteemed organizations such as the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Council on Foreign Relations.

Roosa was married to Ruth Roosa (née AmEnde), and the couple had two daughters. He passed away in December 1993 in Port Chester, New York.

Daniel Bennett St. John Roosa (1838–1908) was a distinguished American physician renowned for his contributions to ophthalmology and otology. Graduating from New York's University Medical College in 1860, Roosa's career included serving as an assistant surgeon in the Fifth New York Volunteers, and later as a resident surgeon at New York Hospital. He was instrumental in founding the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and held professorships at both his alma mater and the University of Vermont. In 1888, he became a professor and eventually president at the New York Post-Graduate Medical School. Roosa authored several significant medical texts, including "A Practical Treatise on the Diseases of the Ear" and "Handbook of the Anatomy and Diseases of the Eye and Ear."
