Abraham Bennet Sr. of Fairfield Twp. Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, in good health and sound memory;
My wife Sarah shall have the use of my farm on which I now reside if she survives me, as long as she lives or remains my widow until such time as my executors hereinafter named shall determine that the farm is getting out of order and is likely to decrease in value then in such case the farm is to be put to public sale on terms as advantageous to my heirs, the interest to go to the use of my widow;
After her death the proceeds of my real estate to be equally divided among my children as follows: Robert, David, William, John, Isaac, Mary Ann intermarried With James Hutcheson, Margaret Intermarried With John P. Ferguson, Nancy who was intermarried with Joseph Davidson, Elisabeth & Rachel Joan;
My wife Sarah if she survives me shall be allowed to retain my personal property as she may need for her comfort; the balance to be sold and the proceeds of which including money be divided as follows:
I have given each of my children that have gotten married one hundred and fifty dollars worth of property, John, Elisabeth, Rachel Joan are yet single, and should my death occur before the last three named children be made equal with those married, then I direct that my executors make them equal;
My son John, now in California, (should he not return during my lifetime), is to receive 168 dollars over an equal share to be paid out of the first money that comes into the hands of my executors;
One hundred dollars to my granddaughter L[o]retta Isabela Bennett should she live to be married or on her arriving at the age of 21 years, this last be set aside and kept out of David's share of the personal estate;
I appoint Samuel Huston and James McElroy my executors;
