Record Source: at Chesterfield Borough Police Court her father was summoned for disobeying an order to have his children Samuel Edwin and Agnes Rachel vaccinated within a month. He admitted the offence, but pleaded that he had conscientous objections. He stated that he had been fined several times previously on account of the same children, and he thought the justice of the case would be met by the infliction of a small penalty. The bench imposed a fine of 2s-6d. in each case".
