He came to Lawrence, Kansas in 1869, from there to Palmer, where he met and married Irene Dinwiddie On January 30, 1881, Going West Four Years Later. The union was blessed with five children, all of whom are living.He leaves to mourn his departure the following children: Charles Whaley of Woodland, California; Maude Tice of Independence, Oregon; and Hester and Lloyd of Weippe, Idaho; Lizzie Pruitt of Burns, Oregon; nine grandchildren, three great grand children; three brothers besides a host of friends and neighbors.Mr. Whaley will be remembered by some of the older residents of our communityObituary, from an unidentified contemporary newspaper: Albert D. Whaley Dies. Albert David Whaley, resident of Weippe and Fraser for many years, died at his home in Weippe Thursday, January 24th, at the age of 77 years and ten months. Death resulted from old age and natural complications, following a comparatively long period of sickness. Albert David Whaley was born at Wakegan [sic], Illinois, March 22, 1852, and went from there to Palmer, Kansas, in 1869, where he married Irene Dinwiddie, January 30, 1881. He came west in 1885 and finally located permanently in Clearwater county, residing here for many years. Besides his widow he leaves five children, Charles Whaley of Woodland, California; Maude Tice, Independence, Oregon; Lizzie Pruitt, Burns, Oregon; and Lester and Floyd Whaley, both of Weippe. Nine grandchildren and three brothers also survive. Funeral services were conducted by W. D. Pinson of the Orofino Mortuary at the Community hall, Weippe, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and burial was made in the Weippe cemetery.Card of Thanks. We wish to take this means of thanking the friends and neighbors for their kindness to us through the sickness and death of our beloved husband and father. Also for the beautiful floral offerings.
