He was 66. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Visiting at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday. Visiting at the funeral home 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. David Fortenberry and the Rev. Danny Smith. Interment in Amite Memorial Gardens, Amite. Survived by wife, Esther Triche Rodriguez, Amite; ason and daughter-in-law, Mike and Shanna Rodriguez, Amite; four daughters and sons-in-law, Debi Rodriguez and Jimmie Pittman and Julie Rodriguez and Chuck Wagner, all of Spring Creek, Michele Rodriguez and Sammy Hutchinson, Tickfaw, and Melissa Rodriguez and Kenneth Ridgedell, Hammond; a sister, Betty Rodriguez Turner, Independence; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Alton Charles and Lorena Faust Rodriguez; and three brothers, Melvin Chavers, Luther "Doc" Chavers Sr. and Clent Chavers. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Amite.
