    Record Source: Type: Obituary The Collie Mail - Saturday - ALFRED SAMUEL SWIFT - It was with extreme regret that the many friends of Mr & Mrs S. Swift heard that their little son, Alfred Samuel, had died on Monday last. The little fellow was 6 years and 9 months old. He only took ill on the Thursday previous and despite every effort to save him passed away as stated. The funeral took place on Tuesday, the corpse leaving the residence i Coombe Street at 4pm and proceeded to the Collie cemetery where his remains were interred in the Congregational portion. The service was conducted by the Rev. W. J. Williams, many sympathising friends being present at the graveside. The sympathy of the whole district goes to the parents in their sad loss. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. H. Doyle. A large number of floral tributes, letters, cards, telegrams, etc.,were received by the bereaved parents among them being the following:-

Pritchard, Mrs Grondel,Miss Mary Morgan (Sunday School teacher), Isobel and Jackie Moulsdale.
    Cards:- Messrs and Mesdames E. Hunter, C. McCamish, M. Dixon and family, Trapp, Osborne and family, H. Franke, Hewett and family, Pengelly and family, Price, J. Dodd and family, Dawes and sons,Williams,Hume, Davey, B. McCabe and family, A A Wilson and family, Bastion, M P Mahony, A and E McCamish, Ruth, Edith and Beryl Dixon (all playmates), Jessie Osborne and Alf (playmates), Miss May Price, Mrs Craddock and Nellie, Mrs Dunn, Nurse Bennett. Mr and Mrs Wm Palmer and Barbara, Frank and Mrs Bird, Mr and Mrs R. Walker, Mr and Mrs Woodcock and Ruby.
    Telegrams and letters of sympathy were received from Mr and Mrs J. Laurie and Mr and Mrs Frazer, Mrs L. McNab, Mr and Mrs Herbert House (uncle and aunt), Mrs G. House (grandmother, Broken Hill), Arnold House (uncle).

Swift of 418 Coombe Street, Collie, desire to sincerely thank all friends for letters, cards, telegrams and personal expressions of sympathy in their sad bereavement in the death of their only darling son, Alfred Samuel, and also wish to especially thank Mr and Mrs A. Osborne, Doctor and Mrs Ryan, Mrs J. Dodd, Mrs M. Dixon, Mr and Mrs Rinder and Mrs S. Price.
