    Mrs Annie C Chrisstler Narrowly Escapes Death in Flames
    Most of Hair Burned Off

    Awakened by fire and smoke in her room at 3 AM yesterday. Mrs Annie C Chrisstler, Slingluff Avenue and Liberty Road, narrowly escaped being burned to death. Nearly all her hair was burned off, but otherwise she escaped injury. The house, a story and a half wooden structure, was badly damaged, and a carriage house adjoining was destroyed. A goat and a number of chickens were also burned. The loss is estimated at $1500 ($1000?).
    The fire started in the carriage house and is supposed to have been of incendiary origin.
