Record Source: Death note, A Legend Laid to Rest. - Words by Brian DarbyIt was a walk down Speedway’s Memory Lane on the 20601 as Speedcar legendFrank “Satan” Brewer was laid to rest.Family and friends gathered at St John’s Church in Camden NSW to celebrate and remember the full and fruitful lifeof Frank “Satan” Brewer. The historic old church was full of mourners but the air was peaceful, full of love and fondmemories of this marvellous man, husband, father, friend and Speedcar icon. Frank’s best friend, American speedcarowner and ex driver Hal Knight delivered a eulogy as did Aussie Speedway’s Mike Raymond.Among the congregation were, Bob Morgan and Bob Levy from Qld., Frank Nankiville from Victoria, Kevin Gormly,Sid Middlemass, Bill Shevill, Ron Ward, Brian Myers, Gordon Benny, Allan Streader, veteran Motor Sportphotographer Byron Gunther, Bruce and Gavin Leer with Sprintcar representatives Max and Melinda Dumesny,Brian and Kelly Linigen, Justin Mineeff and too many more to mention in this brief report. The service procedures were produced in the form of a Speedway programme ( photo above) withEvents 1 to 8 and the Eulogies were listed as Heats 1 to 4, a wonderfully warm touch that put a smile on everyone’sfaces and made for a relaxed atmosphere on this very sad occasion. The balance of the “programme” was made upof a collage of photos of Frank the Family and his cars. After the Church service and burial, family and friend’s made their way back to Frank’s daughter Maureen Brabek’shome for refreshments. Frank now lays at rest next to his wife, Margaret on a gentle sunny slope overlooking thepicturesque semi rural township of Camden NSW.
