He was the son of the late Nat and Esta Price Hyatt .Surviving is his wife Bertha Pegg Hyatt; daughter Barbara Ann Rice and husband Howard of Asheville; sons Robert Lee Hyatt and wife Brenda of Weaverville and Vernie John Hyatt of Asheville; sister Flora Dean Hyatt of Weaverville; brother Johnny Hyatt of Arden; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday in the chapel of West Funeral Home , 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with the Revs. Roy McPeters and Joe Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Sheba Baptist Church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.Friday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.Flowers are acceptable and appreciated. .
