    Record Source: Mrs. Bessie Gattis George of Camargo Road, Fayetteville, died Friday morning in Lincoln County Hospital following a short illness. She was 78.

    The funeral was Sunday afternoon at Higgins Funeral Home with Clifford Sims officiating. Burial was in Champ Cemetery.

    A native of Oklahoma, she was the wife of the late Jim George who died in 1978, and the daughter of the late Lonnie and Emma Eslick Gattis. She was a member of South Fayetteville Church of Christ.

    Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Anita Anderson of Mulberry; three sons, J. L. George of Mulberry, Willie H. George of Fayetteville, and Joe D. George of Pulaski; two sisters, Mrs. Hassie Walker of Mulberry, and Mrs. Lizzie Sullivan ofFayetteville; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
