Both James and Bridget state they were born in Ireland. All the children were born in Workington. The children are James 13, John 11, Sarah Ann 9, Fanny 5, Catherine 3 and William Hugh is just a year old. All the children except for William are at school. There is no mention of David (Daniel).

[2] James Kean, 45 lives with his 46 year old wife, Bridget. Both are Irish and Catholic. James had children by a previous marriage and some of theses are living in the household. He lives with his eldest son, James 24, then John 22, then comes a daughter Sarah Ann who was 20. He also has younger children, probably from his marriage to Bridget. These are a 18 year old son David, 16 year old daughter Fany, 14 year old Catherine Ellen (Helena) and the youngest child, William Hugh who is just 12.

At the time of this census, they only have the two child, Kate Croskery is 3 and littl Martha is only 11 months old. They live in the registration district of Cock

Record Source: he 1901 Census sees the family still living in Southey St. Richard (52) and Catherine (42) now have 6 extra mouths to feed. She had eight living children. The eldest Catherine or Katie is now 12 and Martha is 11. The additions are Bessie b. 1891 aged 10, Jane b. 1892 aged 9, their first boy child, Richard b. 1894, aged 7, followed by James, b 1896 aged 4, William b. 1897 aged 3 and finally Annie b 1899 aged 2.

Headline, 15,000 Pound Winner: Sub heading: Aged Workington Widow: Yesterday it was announced that Mrs Catherine Crosskerry, 79 year old widow, living at 49 Berry, The Marsh, Workington, has won 15,000 pounds. Mrs Crosskerry who has two sons in Workington, when interviewed yesterday, was both excited and pleased at the good news, but said it was too early to say what she would do with her fortune.
