They had travelled from New South Wales.
Mrs Rose (Edith Dorothy Rose nee Brown) Thompson had bottled fruit and poultry for the trip so they didnt have to buy anything or stop for long.

Record Source: The farm Waranga, (Yenellin Road, Pingelly) was sold shortly after the house burnt dow and remains were demolished. It burnt the two rooms closest to the kitchen first. (The loungeroom and Andrew and Jodi's bedroom). There was an electrical fault in the ceiling above the loungeroom, the fireman said. Mummar and Poppies room and the spare room were barely touched but a lot of smoke damage and water damage. The dining room was the same. That was the extent of the damage that night then through the night the fire burnt through the floor and the kitchen went up. The sleepout had minor fire damage but major smoke and water damage.
