Motorist, 41, Suffers Fatal Heart Attack
Stricken with a heart attack while driving his car on 13th near Pershing Thursday evening, a Wichita man failed to respond to treatment and died at Wesley Hospital.
Charles M. Keller, 41, of 1521 N. Belmont, an engineer at Boeing Airplane Co., suffered the attack about 5:20 p.m. while driving west on 13th en route home from work. His car jumped over the curbing and smashed into a utility pole.
Keller was taken to the hospital where physicians massaged his heart and administered treatment in an unsuccessful attempt to revive him. He was pronounced dead at 8:50 p.m.,
Traffic Patrolman Sam Moore said several witnesses reported they saw Keller, apparently unconscious, slumped over the steering wheel of his slowly moving car just prior to the crash.
A native Wichitan, Keller was born Dec, 6, 1916. He attended Kansas State College at Manhattan and received his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry at Friends University.
He was a member of West Side Presbyterian church and Loyal Order of Moose.
Keller is survived by his wife; Mary E.; two sons, Charles M. Jr., 10, and Scott Karl, 6, of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Keller, 1040 Amidon; and a brother, Capt. C. A. Keller Jr. commanding officer, Grosse Ile, Mich., Naval Air Station.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Byrd-Snodgrass Funeral Home.

KELLER— Charles M., age 41, of 152 N. Belmont passed away in a local hospital Thursday. Funeral services, will he conducted at the Byrd-Snodgrass Funeral Home 3 p.m., Saturday. Dr. F. B. Thorn of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be made in Wichita Park Cemetery. Memorial by Byrd-Snodgrass.
