    Oil Man Dies Here at Age 73

    With Derby Refining Firm for 35 Years

    Clarence Allen Keller, 73, of 1040 Amidon, well-known Wichita oil man, died Friday afternoon in Wesley Hospital.

    He had retired Oct. 1, 1955, from the capacity of vice president in charge of sales and marketing for Derby Refining Co. after 35 years with the company.

    Mr. Keller was born Aug. 28, 1886, in Junction City, Kan., and moved to Wichita in 1900, After graduation from high school in Wichita, he went to Topeka and worked there as United States marshal.

    Works for Railroad

    He returned to Wichita and was employed by Orient Railroad Co. as purchasing agent. Later he worked for Missouri Pacific. Railroad,

    During World War I, he worked as a civilian employe at Ft. Riley, Kan, In 1918 he returned to Wichita and began employment with Western Refining Co. as traffic manager.
    When the company sold out to Derby Refining Co. in 1920, Mr. Keller assumed the position of manager of sales, traffic and purchasing. He later gave up the duties of traffic and purchasing.

    In '25-year Club'

    Mr. Keller was a charter member of Derby Refining's "25-year Club" and was a senior member of the club when he retired. Since retirement, he had served as a special representative for Derby.

    He married Daisy Armstrong In Wichita Aug. 18, 1908. She survives.

    Survivors besides his wife include a son, C. A. Keller, Taranto, Italy; a sister, Mrs. Mary McLean, 1629 W. 13th; and five grandchildren.

    Funeral arrangements will be announced by Byrd-Snodgrass Funeral Home.

    KELLER— Clarence Allen, age 73, of 104O Amidon passed away Friday afternoon. Funeral services will be held from the Byrd-Snodgrass Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Roger Allen of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will be In Maple Grove Cemetery, Casket Bearers will be B, K. Cooper; H. G, Watts; R, E. Newton; Earnest Wasser; R. A. Wildeboor and Don Douglas, MEMORIAL BY BYRD-SNODGRASS.
