Record Source: He sold the land to Granny Bee when she and my Dad moved from New Orleans to Amite to live out in the country when my Dad was around 12. They purchased 180 acres of land from Elijah Thornton Covington according to the land deed.
Granny Bee used to talk about part of the Little Chappapeela Creek that runs through the property line dividing our land with David Laniers. There was a place she used to call Hazel's Wash Hole, I guess named after his wife. This was back in the early 1940s and this was rural,so people probably did not have running water for the house.

Record Source: He sold the land to Granny Bee when she and my Dad moved from New Orleans to Amite to live out in the country when my Dad was around 12. They purchased 180 acres of land from Elijah Thornton Covington according to the land deed.
Granny Bee used to talk about part of the Little Chappapeela Creek that runs through the property line dividing our land with David Laniers. There was a place she used to call Hazel's Wash Hole, I guess named after his wife. This was back in the early 1940s and this was rural,so people probably did not have running water for the house.
