Record Source: with brother John he started the "Shamrock Service" bus company which had two buses and operated between Newfield and Bishop Auckland, via Byers Green, Binchester, Westerton, Gate House and Coundon - they also ran excursions. One bus was a Reo Gold Crown, registration no. UP 1837, which they had bought some time before Sep 1935 (when it was last licenced) - they also operated a Shev (Chevrolet?) Six. They ran jointly with their uncle Alfred BOOTH until Sep. 1935 when A. W. HUTCHINSON took over BOOTH's service, HUTCHINSON then ran the service jointly with the GOUNDRY brothers.
