    Henry Brown Covington

    Henry Brown Covington, 88, retired president of Covington & Associates, died Monday, June 23, 2003, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation is 12 noon today at St. Columb's Episcopal Church until the 1 p.m. memorial service. Committal will follow in the Church Columbarium. Mark Seepe Funeral Home of Jackson is handling arrangements.
    A native of Kentwood, Louisiana, Mr. Covington was a graduate of Kentwood High School. He attended Louisiana State University with a football scholarship.
    Mr. Covington was past president of Martin School Equipment and an active communicant of St. Columb's Episcopal Church where he taught Sunday school. At 72 he opened his own business, Covington & Associates and worked there until he retired at 83. He loved his work; it was his passion and his life. He was a loyal supporter of Education in Mississippi. He was an avid reader, and loved war history and anything about trains. He called everybody "brother". Henry believed in getting the best education possible and hard, hard work. He loved his family and children.
    His eight brothers and one son Norman Henry Covington preceded him in death.
    Wife of 32 years Gwyan Turnage Covington of Brandon; children, Tina Covington Williams of San Antonio, Texas, Shellie Sills (Joe) Williams of Yazoo City, Vernon Douglas (Becky) Sills, Jr. of Crestview, Fla., Gigi Sills (David) Buck of Jackson; grandchildren, Hank Covington of Memphis, Tenn., Jordan Williams, Lauren Williams of San Antonio, Texas, Tripp Sills of Ormond Beach, Amanda Sills of Gainesville, Fla., Georgia (Nick) Olier of Brandon, Tara Buck and Rowdy Buck of Jackson survive him.
    In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center Blvd., Ridgeland, MS 39157, or St. Columb's Episcopal Church, 550 Sunnybrook Road, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
