Roy Nelson was born March 30, 1916, to
Melvin and, Rose (Birkley) Nelson at
Newcastle.
He served as a fanner; a carpenter and a
building contractor of new homes at
Newealtle, Minneapolis, MN and
Gayville, SD, On Oct, 28, 1967, he married
Dorothy Stone at Gayville. , They later
, movedand' retired at Stuart, NE. He enjoyed
gardening as an activity in his retirement.
He served as a member of St.
John's Lutheran Church, Atkinson. He
died Sunday, Sept. 13; 1992, at Good
Samaritan Conter in Atkinson, whent he
had lived since suffering injury in a fall
last spring.
Services were held Sept. 17,1992 at 11:00
a.m. in St. John's Lutheran Church, with
Pastor Howard Schroeder officiating.
Interment was in the LIme Creek Cemetery,
Maskell, at 3:30 p.m.
Those who mourn his passing include
his wife of Stuart; a son, Leslie, of Atkinson;
a daughter, Lynda Wickstrom, Fresno, CA;
seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren;
brother, Raymond of Maskell, Carleton of
Ponca, and a sister, Mrs. Norman (Maurine)
Hangman, of Obert.
Pallbearers were Todd Nelson, Travis
Nelson, Keith Fiscus, John Hintz, Jim
Cooper and Dennis Kliment.
