    Record Source: Death note, Obituary from the <i>Clearwater Tribune</i>, Orofino, Idaho, 10 Dec 1981: Lester Whaley, Former Fraser Farmer, Dies. Funeral services were held Saturday at Gilbert's Chapel for Lester Z. Whaley, 86, of Juliaetta, who died December 2 at St. Joseph's Hospital of heart failure. He had been ill for a month. Mr. Whaley was a long-time resident of Fraser before moving to Juliaetta over seven years ago. He was born April 2, 1895 at Chehalis, Washington, the son of Albert and Irene Whaley. The family moved to Summit, Idaho where they lived for several years before moving to Fraser in 1906. Mr. Whaley grew up at Fraser and later farmed on Lower Ford's Creek. He worked in the woods and at the Orofino Creamery as well as being a "bull cook" at Boehl's Cabin for the C-PTPA. He retired in 1960. Mr. Whaley married Nellie May Eller Mcavoy At Orofino In 1914. She died in 1971. He continued to live on the Ford's Creek ranch until moving to Juliaetta. He was a member of the juliaetta Community Church. The Rev. Lonnie Williams officiated at the last rites. Pallbearers were S.C. Eller, Earl Williams, Lyle Thornton, Allen Bowles, Carl Thornton and John Lettenmaier. Interment was at Fraser Cemetery.Note: The C-PTPA is the Clearwater-Potlatch Timber Protective Association, an organization for preventing wildfires.
