"Martin Dick, a well known Indian citizen living
six miles east of town, died very unexpectedly
Sunday night. He was a half-breedIndian and
Negro and was honest and intelligent. He served
in the Confederate Army during the Civil War.
Just before his death Martin had built a new house and
improvements on his farm and seemed to have settled
down for easy life in his old days.
