    Record Source: Mrs RM Lawrence, 75 years old, passed away at her home in Hennessey Friday night after a brief illness.

    Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, with Rev RL Grant, the pastor, officiating. Interment was made in the Hennessey cemetery.

    Six grandchildren of the deceased - Harold Gassaway, Laurence Allan, Vern James, Bunny Brownback, Sam Walton and Clem James - served as pallbears, and a half-dozen granddaughters - Mildred Allan, Winifred Gassaway, Evelyn Brownback, DelorisJames, Lorane Garrison and Frances Montgomery - as flower girls.

    Mrs Ellen Lawrence was born at Somerset, Ky, Sept 29, 1856, and passed away at Hennessey, Okla, March 27, 1935, at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 28 days. Her husband, RM Lawrence died Nov 18, 1929. Eight children survive both parents: Mrs OP Brownback, of Corbin, Kans; WO James, of Norman, Okla; Mrs Frances Allen, of Tulsa, Okla; Mrs Eva Stock, of Hennessey, Okla; Mrs FF Gassaway, of Clinton, Okla; EJ Lawrence and Mrs Bert Montgomery of Hennessey, Okla; and Mrs TG Waltonof Columbia, Mo. They are also survived by 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

    Her grandson, Eugene Lawrence, attending school in Michigan, was unable to be here for the funeral.

    She has been a member of the church since early childhood and lived as a consistent Christian.
