[1] U.S., Newspapers.com™ Marriage Index, 1800s-current, Reception at Paytons’ Following Wedding, The marriage of Mary Estelle O’Connell of 1260 Goodfellow avenue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel O’Connell of Dallas, Tex., and Thomas Jennings took place Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock mass in St. Rose’s Church. The Rev. Father J. J. McGlynn read the nuptial mass and performed the ceremony.
The bride wore a gown of crepe meteor trimmed with point lace. Her tulle veil was adorned with sprays of lilies of the valley, and she carried a bouquet of the same flowers. Miss Nell O’Connell of Dallas, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore her graduation dress of white lingerie, and carried pink sweet peas. Miss Estella Jennings, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid. She wore a pink lingerie gown, and carried pink carnations.
John Sweeney and Dan Kennah attended the bridegroom. The bride was given away by her brother, John O’Connell of Dallas. The church service was followed by a wedding breakfast for the bridal party and the immediate families, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Payton, uncle and aunt of the bride, with whom she has been making her home. There was a large reception held in the afternoon from 4 until 10 o’clock, after which Mr. and Mrs. Jennings departed for the East on their honeymoon. Upon their return they will reside at 1389 Clara avenue.
