    Record Source: at Leeds Assizes he admitted a charge of bigamously marrying the previous year. He told the Judge "I have never been so happy". It was said that he had left his wife in 1930, and had had four children with her. He had courted his bigamous "wife", Marian PRINGLE, for 12 months, had married her on May 29, 1937 at Christ Church, Harrogate, and they now had a two-month old son. Later he told Miss PRINGLE he was married, but in spite of that the bigamous union appears to have been a very happy one". The Judge told him - "You will have to pay for it," and sentenced him to six months' imprisonment. His Solicitor said "These two people do love one another . . . . . They are determined to live together and make a success of their lives". GOUNDRY was said to be aged 45, and a Hotel Worker, living at Strawberrydale Avenue, Harrogate.
