Record Source: at West London Police Court Michael GOUNDRY (19), a Painter of 67 Dawes-road, Fulham and two other men were charged on remand as "suspected persons loitering for the purpose of committing a felony." It was said that "they had been seen wandering about in the neighbourhood of Earls Court at ten o'clock at night, peering into unattended cars, and one of them opened the door of one of them. Two of the men also went into the hall of a block of flats, the third standing outside." When arrested they said that they all came from Newcastle and that as one of them had only been in London a few days the others were "showing him round" and went into the flats merely out of curiosity. The Court was told one of the men had already been put on probation. GOUNDRY and the other man "were known to the police at Newcastle, both having been bound over for theft." The Magistrate said he would give them another chance and bind them over again, though he did so with some reluctance.
