Record Source: Covington, Nannie Mae A longtime resident of Kentwood, she died at 11:13 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite. She was 95, born May 11, 1909, in St. Helena Parish. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, from 9 a.m. Saturday until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Percy Frazier. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kentwood. Survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald A. Covington, Kentwood, and James E. Covington and Melba Stewart Covington, both of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, James Steven Covington, Michael Neil Covington and Janet Alise Rockforte; and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Carl Covington; parents, Marshall E. and Sara Day Foster; two brothers, Julius Foster and Jessie Foster; and a sister, Mecia Foster. She was a longtime member of Kentwood United Methodist Church and was retired from the Tangipahoa Parish School Food Association. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
