Record Source: a newspaper reported that "Ralph GOUNDRY (16), a Labourer at Newfield Brickworks, who lives at Goundry's Buildings, Newfield, sustained a compound fracture to the left leg while following his employment. GOUNDRY was attending to the pug-mill, when he slipped and got his leg in the mixing machine. A man working nearby came to his help. The boy's leg was found to be twisted round the shafting, which had to be taken down before he could be got out. He was taken to the Auckland Cottage Hospital"
