    I Robert NEWCOMB of Heighington in the County of Durham, Yeoman, do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say, I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Margery and unto my eldest John All my Right Title and Interest of, in and to the farm of lands and premises whereon I now live which I now hold as lessee under the School of Darlington in the said County. To hold the same unto the said Margery my wife and to my said son John equally betwixt them as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants and I give and bequeath unto my said wife and my said son John all my farming stock of corn, hay, live cattle, consisting of horses, cows, oxen, swine, sheep, together with all my utensils of husbandry and all other things relating to the said farm. To hold the same equally betwixt share and share alike as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants. And I give and bequeath unto my said wife all and every of my household goods and furniture whatsoever of what kind or distribution soever the same be. To hold the same as her own proper goods and chattels for ever. And I give and bequeath unto my good friends John OLIVER of Heighington aforesaid Hugh WRIGHT and Robert GRAHAM near Walkerfield in the said County, Yeoman, and the survivor of them and the Executors Administrators and Assigns of such survivor the sum of forty pounds to hold the same in trust for my daughter Mary for and until she attains the age of twenty one years and upon her attaining such her age of twenty one years then I give and bequeath unto my said daughter the said sum of forty pounds and the interest thereof in the meantime to be applied, paid and disposed of in life for my said daughter in such manner as they my said trustees shall think proper And I give and bequeath unto them my said trustees the like sum of forty pounds to hold the same in trust for my son Robert for and until he shall attain the age of twenty one years and upon attaining his age of twenty one years then I give and bequeath unto him my said son Robert the said sum of forty pounds and the interest thereof in the meantime to be applied, paid and disposed of in life for him my said son Robert in such manner as they my said trustees shall think proper And I give and bequeath unto them my said trustees the like sum of forty pounds to hold the same in trust for my daughter Elizabeth for and until she shall attain the age of twenty one years and upon her attainment of that age then I give and bequeath unto her my said daughter Elizabeth the said sum of forty pounds and the interest thereof to be paid, applied and disposed of in life for her my said daughter Elizabeth in such manner as they my said trustees shall think proper And I give and bequeath unto them my said trustees the like sum of forty pounds to hold the same in trust for my son Thomas for and until he shall attain the age of twenty one years and upon his attaining that age then I give and bequeath unto my said son Thomas the said sum of forty pounds and the interest thereof in the meantime to be paid, applied and disposed of in such manner as they my said trustees shall think proper, But if it shall happen that they or any of them my said last mentioned four children shall happen to dye before his/her or their attainment of twenty one years that then and in that case the share of him or her so dying shall go and be paid to the survivor or survivors of them equally share and share alike upon the survivor or survivors of them attaining the said age of twenty one years as aforesaid, AND I give and bequeath unto my said wife - Margery and my said son John the sum of forty pounds apiece to be paid to them respectively within six months next after my decease all which said several legacies to be paid by my executors hereinafter manner. All the residuum and remainder of my estate whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my said wife and her assigns for ever and I do authorise and impower my said trustees from time to time as often as they shall think proper to call in and place out upon security all such sum and sums of money given to them in trust as aforesaid and in such manner as they shall think proper, and it is my Will and meaning that my said trustees or either of them or my executors hereinafter named shall not be liable to answer or make good any loss or losses that shall or may happen in my estate or effects in placing out the money according to the execution and intent of this my Will or otherwise relating or ? the execution of this Will.

    Unless the same shall appear to happen by or thro them or any of their wilful neglect or default nor shall either or any of them my said trustees and executors be answerable or accountable for the acts, deeds, receipts and disbursements of the other of them but each of them shall be answerable for his own acts, deeds and receipts only and I do hereby direct that they my said trustees shall and may reimburse themselves and himself out of my estate and effects all reasonable and charges whatsoever that they either and every of them shall or may be put into or sustain in or about the execution of the trust hereby in them proposed. And lastly I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint them the said John OLIVER, Robert GRAHAM and my said wife, Executors of this my Will, they paying my just debts and funeral expenses out of the residuum of my estate. Bequeathed as aforesaid and I do declare this to be my last Will and Testament in writing whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Twenty Eighth day of May in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety.
