Record Source: - he left all of his real and personal estate, apart from his money, to his wife Charlotte. On her death the house at Byers Green in which they lived, together with adjoining land, garden, barn, stable and a garth were to go to his son Thomas. He bequeathed £30 each to his daughters Dorothy RUTTER and Ann MOSES, £10 to daughter Sarah BOWNESS. A close of land of about one acre at Byers Green was left to daughter Sarah BOWNESS, together with a house and garden at Byers Green then occupied by a Mrs. LAW, and the adjoining pig houses and outbuildings. After her death they were to go to his grandson Thomas BOWNESS. After his wife's death his daughter Sarah was also to receive all of his household furniture, linen, woollen and other goods and chattels. She was also left all the residue of his money, after payment of expenses and debts - in the event of there being insufficient money to pay these, he stipulated that son Thomas and daughter Sarah were to pay them.
