    Ruth I. Wunnenberg, 86 years of age, of Beatrice, NE. passed away at the Beatrice Manor Care Center in Beatrice, NE. Monday morning, January 6, 2003. She was born on May 13, 1916 near Ellis, Nebraska and lived in the Beatrice area her entire life. She graduated from Beatrice High School in Beatrice, NE. and attended Peru State Teachers College for 2 years. She taught rural school near Beatrice and at the Barneston Schools in Barneston, NE. She and Harlan Wunnenberg were married On October 20, 1946 In Liberty, Ne. She was employed at Dempster Manufacturing as a government inspector and a machinist for a number of years before retiring. She was a member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beatrice, NE. and had been a member of the church choir. She enjoyed traveling.

    Survivors include her husband Harlan; sister in law Rosetta Graves of Beatrice, NE.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Miley and Elizabeth (Dennehy) Graves, and brother Virgil Graves.

    Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church at 8th and High Streets in Beatrice, NE. with Reverend Daniel Hiederich officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice, NE. The body will lie in state Tuesday from 4-9:00 and Wednesday from 9-1:00 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice and at the church one hour preceding the service. A family prayer service will b e held at 2:15 P.M. Wednesday at the church. A memorial has been established to the church with the church elders in charge. Messages of condolence may be sent to [email protected]. They will be forwarded to the family.

    The Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice is in charge of the services.
