Sir John I, Earl of Lennox, 10th Lord of Darnley Stewart was born in Renfrewshire, Scotland in 1428, to Sir Alan of Darnley, 2nd Seigneur d'Aubigny Stewart and Catherine Seton, Lady, Countess of Darnley and Seton (18GGM). Later in life, Sir John I, Earl of Lennox, 10th Lord of Darnley Stewart married Lady Margaret Christian Countess of Lennox Montgomery; among their children were Lady Isabel Elizabeth "Lennox" Baroness Campbell Countess Argyll Baroness Campbell Stewart, Lady Elizabeth Lennox Countess of Argyll Stewart, Matthew Stewart Earl van Lennox and Allan Hugh Stewart. Sir John I, Earl of Lennox, 10th Lord of Darnley Stewart died in Darnley Castle, Renfrewshire, Scotland, 1495.
