    Record Source: he was summoned to a hearing on 7 November. He was a Carpenter, Joiner and Cartwright, of Newgate Street, Barnard Castle. A complaint was made by Peter STANWICK, a gamekeeper for Frederick WEBB of Westwick that Thos. NEWCOMB and his son had chopped down a fir tree on the request of Mr RAWLINGS. STANWICK told Thomas NEWCOMB that he had no such order "Nonsense" said NEWCOMB and went away - RAWLINGS told him he needed the tree so NEWCOMB chopped it down. He was given a Penalty of 40s
