Record Source: Virginia Owen Land, 69, of Amarillo died Saturday, April 22, 2006.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
Mrs. Land was born in Hall County on Oct. 6, 1936. She graduated from nursing school in Lubbock in 1956 and taught nursing in Midland. She married William Lee Land In 1962. He passed away in 1995. She retired soon after his death and movedto Amarillo to be with her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Catherine Young of Carrollton; a son, Stephen Land of Amarillo; two sisters, Sarah B. Phillipp and Nancy McKee, both of Amarillo; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to Red Cloud Indian School, 100 Mission Drive, Pine Ridge, SD 57770-2100.
The family will be at 2604 S. Travis St.
