Cleon Francis "Throck" Throckmorton (October 8, 1897 – October 23, 1965) was a multi-talented American painter, theatrical designer, producer, and architect. His early career was marked by his association with Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he created sets for stage productions and operated the Krazy Kat speakeasy, a popular gathering place for artists and intellectuals during the Jazz Age. Throckmorton gained widespread recognition after his set designs for Eugene O'Neill's The Emperor Jones received rave reviews, leading him to become one of the most prolific set designers of his time, with his work featured in over six hundred productions. Born in Absecon, New Jersey, Throckmorton's artistic inclinations were influenced by his mother, an artist, and his early years spent in Atlantic City and Washington, D.C. He studied engineering before pursuing his passion for painting and set design, eventually finding the perfect marriage of the two professions. Throckmorton's meteoric success in the theater world culminated in his posthumous induction into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 2002.

Cleon H. Foust (1907–2003) was an American lawyer, politician, and educator, best known for his tenure as the thirty-second Indiana Attorney General from 1947 to 1949. Born in Columbia City, Indiana, Foust graduated from Wabash College before pursuing a law degree at the University of Arizona Law School. After practicing law in Columbia City, he embarked on a distinguished career in academia, joining the faculty of the Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis and later serving as its Dean from 1967 to 1973.
