Lester Lowry Mays (July 24, 1935 – September 12, 2022) was an American businessman known for founding and chairing Clear Channel Communications. Born in Houston, Texas, Mays pursued a Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering at A&M College of Texas (now Texas A&M University) before serving in the Air Force and later earning his Master of Business Administration from Harvard University. In 1972, he founded the San Antonio Broadcasting Company, which eventually became Clear Channel Communications. The company grew significantly, acquiring numerous radio and television stations, and expanding into outdoor advertising. Mays was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2004.In addition to his business endeavors, Mays was actively involved with Texas A&M University, serving on the Board of Regents and later having the university's business school named in his honor. He also contributed to various philanthropic efforts and was a chairman of the United Way of San Antonio. Mays passed away in San Antonio in 2022 at the age of 87. Throughout his life, he received numerous awards and honors, including induction into the Texas Business Hall of Fame in 1999. He was survived by his four children and his legacy continues through the Mays Family Foundation.

Lowry Egerton Cole, 4th Earl of Enniskillen, was an influential Irish peer and Conservative Member of Parliament. Lord Enniskillen passed away in April 1924, leaving behind a rich and enduring legacy that is remembered to this day.

Lowry Burgess (1940 – January 28, 2020) was a renowned conceptual and environmental artist, esteemed educator, and a distinguished fellow at Carnegie Mellon University's STUDIO for Creative Inquiry. He was a notable figure, serving on the Advisory Council of Messaging Extraterrestrial Intelligence (METI). Burgess pursued his education at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Instituto Allende in Mexico.Burgess's significant achievements include authoring the "Toronto Manifesto, The Right to Human Memory" in response to the destruction of the Buddhas in Bamiyan, Afghanistan. Notably, his artwork "Boundless Cubic Lunar Aperture" was the seventh piece of art taken into space by NASA. He garnered numerous accolades from prestigious institutions such as the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Guggenheim Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.Tragically, Burgess passed away on January 28, 2020, at his residence in Melbourne, Florida. His impactful contributions and artistic legacy continue to resonate, with his works displayed in esteemed museums and archives worldwide.
