Mert Otsamo, born on September 3, 1990, is a prominent Finnish fashion designer hailing from Oulu. His creative roots stem from the Finnish Northern Ostrobothnia and Turkey, as his father is of Turkish descent. From a young age, Otsamo found solace in designing clothes inspired by cartoons and video games, providing an escape from the challenges he faced growing up. This early passion, coupled with reflections on life's fragility, forms the bedrock of his work. Otsamo's initial independent collection showcased his distinctive style with captivating sculptural pieces, garnering acclaim and making selected styles available in various concept stores across Finland. Subsequent collections have showcased his evolving expertise in pattern-making and tailoring, setting his label apart with a unique design approach. In 2009, Otsamo showcased his talent on MTV3's Project Runway, securing the third position. Furthermore, he showcased his versatility as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars in the autumn of 2013.
