Clifford Nolen Richardson (January 18, 1903 – September 25, 1951) was a prominent third baseman in Major League Baseball. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Richardson pursued his education at the University of Georgia and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. His professional baseball career spanned six seasons from 1929 to 1939, during which he played for the Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, and Cincinnati Reds. Richardson's career highlights include collecting 117 hits in 473 at bats, achieving a .247 batting average, and serving as the shortstop and team captain of the highly acclaimed 1937 Newark Bears, widely regarded as one of the best teams in Minor League Baseball history. Following his playing days, Richardson transitioned into coaching and became the head baseball coach at the University of Georgia.
