Nonnie Griffin (20 October 1933 – 7 June 2019) was a highly acclaimed Canadian actress known for her versatile talents in film, stage, television, and voice acting. She honed her craft at prestigious institutions such as the Toronto Conservatory and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, and also trained with the renowned mime artist Marcel Marceau. Griffin's illustrious stage career included memorable performances in productions like The Sea, Hello, Dolly!, Waiting for the Parade, and Jitters.Her voice talents graced beloved productions such as Star Wars: Ewoks, Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation, and The Raccoons. Griffin also made notable guest appearances in numerous television series and was a beloved presence on the children's show Polka Dot Door. Her filmography included appearances in The Believers, The Abduction, Good Fences, A Husband, a Wife and a Lover, and If You Could See What I Hear.In addition to her acting prowess, Griffin was a talented playwright and author, known for works like Sister Annunciata’s Secret and the one-woman play Marilyn-After. Tragically, she passed away at the age of 85 from a ruptured aortic aneurysm while in rehearsals for a solo show about Margaret Mitchell.
