Nydia Westman

Nydia Eileen Westman (1902–1970) was a talented American actress and singer known for her work on stage, screen, and television. Born to Theodore and Lily Westman, who were vaudeville performers, in New York City, Westman's early exposure to the entertainment industry influenced her career. She made her screen debut in 1932 and went on to appear in over 30 films during the 1930s. Her notable roles included appearances in "Craig's Wife" and the first film adaptation of "Little Women". On television, she played Mrs. Featherstone in the 1962–1963 series "Going My Way". Westman's Broadway career spanned from "Pigs" in 1924 to "Midgie Purvis" in 1961. She was married to producer Robert Sparks and had a daughter, actress Kate Williamson. Westman passed away at the age of 68 due to throat cancer and was laid to rest at Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Chatsworth, California. Her legacy continues to be celebrated through her timeless contributions to the entertainment industry.
