Sir Paget John Bourke, SC (1906 – 7 November 1983) was an Irish barrister and British colonial judge who held prominent positions in Sierra Leone, Cyprus, and several other territories. He was educated at Mount St Mary's College, Chesterfield, and Trinity College, Dublin, and was called to the Irish Bar at King's Inns in 1928. Bourke's career in the Colonial Legal Service included roles such as Legal Adviser and Crown Prosecutor in the Seychelles, Chief Magistrate in Palestine, Judge of the Supreme Court of Kenya, and Chief Justice of Sierra Leone and Cyprus. After his retirement, he became a Senior Counsel at the Irish Bar and served as a part-time judge in various courts of appeal. Notably, Bourke was kidnapped in Dublin in 1975 but managed to escape. He retired to Canada and passed away on his daughter's ranch near Cranbrook, British Columbia. Sir Paget Bourke married Susan Dorothy (née Killeen) in 1936, and they had three sons and a daughter. Lady Bourke passed away in 1982. Sir Paget Bourke was also the paternal uncle of Irish president Mary Robinson.
