He was selected by Fremantle in the 2003 AFL Draft at pick 10, following a trade with the Hawthorn Football Club for Trent Croad. Dunn showcased his talent as a junior player for the Murray Bushrangers in country Victoria, earning two All-Australian under-18 level nominations.Despite a series of injuries, Dunn made his AFL debut in Round 1 of 2004 against Carlton, but his playing time was limited due to collarbone, knee, and hamstring injuries. His career was further hampered by injuries, resulting in a total of only eight games for Fremantle over five seasons. However, he continued to contribute to the East Fremantle Football Club in the WAFL, accumulating over 50 games for the club.In 2009, Dunn continued to display his dedication to the sport by playing for East Fremantle.
