Selam Musai

Selam Musa Salaria, also known as Selam Musai (1857–1920), was an Albanian military leader who played a significant role in the Vlora War. Born in 1857 in Salari, Tepelenë District, Gjirokaster County, Ottoman Empire, he hailed from a patriotic Albanian family. During the Occupation of Albania (1912–1913), he bravely fought against the Greek forces and sustained injuries during the battles. In 1920, he joined the National Defense Committee and actively participated in the Battle of Vlora. Tragically, at the age of 63, he was killed during the battle at Qafë-Koçi while courageously defending his comrades. Posthumously, he was honored with the People's Hero of Albania medal for his unwavering bravery and sacrifice.
