Siraj (1952 – 24 July 2017) was a renowned Indian film director known for his contributions to Tamil cinema. A close acquaintance of actor Ramarajan, Siraj made a significant impact on the industry. In 1999, he played a key role in the creation of the multi-starrer film Suyamvaram, where he also handled the screenplay. Notably, in 2014, Siraj was working on the film Minnal, casting NRI actress Angana Adya in dual lead roles after being impressed by her performance. The film was set to feature debutants Abhinay and Aathava, who had developed remarkable eight-pack abs for their roles. Although the film was initially scheduled for a theatrical release in October 2014, it was unfortunately shelved. Tragically, Siraj passed away on 24 July 2017 at the age of 65 in Chennai, following his admission to the hospital due to chest pains. His legacy continues to inspire and influence the Tamil film industry to this day.
