His father, the late Sh Mulkh Raj Kohli, co-founded Beat All Sports (BAS) with his brother, the late Sh Deshraj Kohli. Kohli's athletic prowess shone brightly when he clinched a bronze medal at the 1982 Asian Games in New Delhi. Notably, in 1980, he captained the Indian team and secured two silver medals at the first Asian Swimming Championships in Dhaka.Post-retirement, Kohli transitioned into coaching young talents in swimming and water polo.
