Talmon First Name Meaning

Talmon is a male name of Hebrew origin, meaning "Levite." The name is derived from the family name of the gatekeepers of the Temple in Jerusalem who returned to rebuild the city during the time of Nehemiah. Talmon is also the name of an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, established in 1989, located near Ramallah. The settlement is organized as a community settlement under the jurisdiction of Mateh Binyamin Regional Council and had a population of 5,379 in 2022. It is situated at an elevation of nearly 600 meters and is surrounded by Palestinian villages, some of whose lands were confiscated for the construction of Talmon. Despite the controversy surrounding Israeli settlements in the West Bank, Talmon remains an integral part of the region's history and geopolitical landscape.
