Theron Tilden Pond (August 20, 1800 – February 22, 1852) was an American pharmacist and businessman known for founding the T. T. Pond company in 1849. Born in Augusta, New York, in 1800, Pond married Sarah Mary Van Ranst in 1831 and together they had four children. He is credited with developing "Pond's Extract," derived from witch hazel bark, which was used as a healing tea and topical salve for wounds. Despite being the company's founder, Pond sold the business shortly after its inception. The company was later incorporated as the Pond's Extract Company in 1914 and is now known for producing Pond's Cream under Unilever. Theron T. Pond passed away in Utica, New York on February 22, 1852.
