Toddy O'Sullivan (8 November 1934 – 12 December 2021) was a prominent Irish Labour Party politician who dedicated sixteen years to serving as a Teachta Dála (TD) for constituencies in Cork. He also held the position of Lord Mayor of Cork from 1980 to 1981 and served as a junior minister for five years. O'Sullivan hailed from the Barrack Street area in the south inner-city of Cork and received his education at Greenmount National School before pursuing a career as a postal clerk. His political journey saw him as a member of Cork City Council, where he later became the Lord Mayor of Cork. Notably, O'Sullivan was elected as a candidate for Dáil Éireann in the Cork North-Central constituency in 1981 and was re-elected in the subsequent five general elections. He also held ministerial roles, including Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Minister of State at the Department of Tourism and Trade. O'Sullivan's political contributions came to an end with his passing on 12 December 2021 at the age of 87. His legacy remains a significant part of Ireland's political history.
