Wynton Charles Kelly (December 2, 1931 – April 12, 1971) was a renowned American jazz pianist and composer known for his lively, blues-based playing and exceptional accompaniment skills. His musical journey began at a tender age, playing professionally at 12 and achieving a No. 1 R&B hit at 16. Kelly's talent and versatility led him to collaborate with notable artists such as Dinah Washington, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, and many others, leaving an indelible mark on the jazz landscape.
